The Imperium Kitchen

At the heart of this home, the kitchen revolves around a generous solid wood island topped with a Kodiak granite countertop. This substantial centerpiece anchors the space both visually and functionally, serving as a work surface, a gathering spot, and a service area. The subtle grain of the granite adds mineral depth, while golden faucets and ribbed glass pendants add a touch of refinement to the ensemble.  The island itself is a statement of character, evoking another era, that of cabinetmaking workshops or vintage apothecaries. Its brushed metal handles, with a slightly retro design, recall old hardware stores. They were chosen not only for their aesthetics, but also for their robustness. The dark wood reinforces a sense of warmth and resilience, underscoring the impression of lasting craftsmanship.

Facing the island, the cooking area is nestled within an architectural alcove framed by a wooden beam. The backsplash and countertop on either side of the stove are crafted from Caesarstone quartz polished in London Grey. The contrast between the two materials, granite and quartz, creates a harmonious visual exchange, blending textures and nuances.

The custom-made cabinetry is both elegant and timeless. Their neutral hues blend well with the palette of natural materials used throughout the room, while brass handles add a touch of sophistication. In the dining room, a glass-fronted bookcase, adorned with glass doors and recessed lighting, surrounds a large bay window. The integrated lighting highlights the tableware, while built-in furniture maximizes storage and creates clear transitions between cooking, entertaining, and unwinding.

Behind the cooking area is a butler’s pantry, designed as an extension of the main kitchen. Upon entering, a carefully designed barista area reveals gold faucets, a light stone countertop, walnut shelves, and exposed brick painted in soft tones. A full pantry extends the space with concealed appliances, open shelves, and large drawers. It provides ample space to store food and smaller kitchen utensils.

Inspired by the Farmhouse and traditional style, the design choices reflect not only the surrounding nature, but also a sense of well-being and conviviality. The style and composition of the cabinets reflect this harmonious, consistent approach. The design focuses on the needs of the family: there’s plenty of storage and workspace to facilitate the patriarch’s culinary activities, and plenty of space for the family to gather, connect and create new memories.

The manufacture of the bespoke cabinets uses a variety of materials from our collections, creating a harmonious combination of textures and tones reminiscent of the balance of nature. The result is a space that’s as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing. This kitchen is not only about preparing meals; it also celebrates family joy, the warmth of traditions and the beauty of nature.
