The Montagne Noire Kitchen

Contemporary Kitchen

A collaboration with Symbiose Design

Nestled between Lake Archambault and the Montagne Noire, in a private estate in Saint-Donat, this unique kitchen, designed by Ateliers Jacob, remarkably combines high-end design with understated functionality. Every aspect was meticulously crafted. The refinement is  revealed through flawless execution, thoughtful material selection, and perfect noise control.

A sleek yet profoundly refined interior design

The L-shaped layout creates a perfect balance between structure and fluidity. The space  unfolds naturally, allowing light to reflect gently off the surfaces. The kitchen fits in with quiet restraint, without overpowering the room. It is both visible and discreet, solid and airy.

At the centre, a massive, monolithic island serves as the architectural centerpiece, commanding attention through its generous proportions and elegance. Four minimalist stools nestle around it, creating a delicate balance between comfort and  visual purity.

The art of cabinetmaking,  mastered in every detail

The EP oak cabinets, carefully selected and custom-made, are the result of Ateliers Jacob’s expertise.  Chosen for its character and strength, the wood gives the entire space a refined look that is both modern and timeless. Handleless cabinets create a flat, uniform facade, highlighting the minimalist geometry of the design. This visual simplicity supports the architectural interpretation of the kitchen as a sculpted, coherent, and minimalist volume.

Noble materials

The countertops and backsplash are made of full-body porcelain, a material that is both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. Porcelain, renowned for its resistance to wear, temperature variations, and scratches, is highlighted in this room. Its mineral  texture harmonizes naturally with the oak cabinetry, reinforcing the kitchen’s refined material palette.

Quiet luxury

This kitchen highlights aesthetic simplicity through the seamless integration of its appliances. The refrigerator, freezer drawer, and dishwasher are completely concealed behind wooden panels. This seamless integration allows the design to remain minimalist and uninterrupted.

Behind a subtly concealed door lies a built-in pantry, revealing a carefully designed functional niche. The light wood interior provides space for medium-sized appliances, dishes, and utensils. Though hidden,  it reflects the same attention to detail found throughout the space—an elegant answer to real-life needs.

A kitchen anchored in the landscape

More than a functional space, this kitchen responds to its natural surroundings. Its materials evoke the textures of the regions: the softness of wood, the rawness of stone, the stillness of the forest. Natural light flows freely, emphasizing the continuity between the interior and the surrounding landscape. This is a kitchen  grounded in its environment—a design that belongs.

This achievement  captures the essence of contemporary high-end design: an alliance of technical intelligence, noble materials and minimalism.
